SEO

Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) is the process of improving and promoting a website to increase it’s visibility within the search engine result pages.

The primary focus of SEO is to attract organic, or “natural” traffic. This is done by optimising a webpage to display a high level of relevancy to web crawlers (search engine robots).

There are many aspects to improving page relevancy. This could range from the content on your page, to the way others link to you.

Do I Need SEO?

Yes. You can ask a thousand times and the answer will always be yes. You do need SEO.

Whether you are a small local business looking for an extra stream of enquiries, or a medium sized blog looking to drive more organic traffic, SEO will always prove to be a beneficial long-term strategy.

The benefits of SEO are highly rewarding, and by ignoring this vital marketing channel, you are potentially missing out on quality leads and traffic.

Why Does My Website Need SEO?

A website attracts visitors through many different channels. This includes SEO, Pay Per Click, referrals, direct and more. SEO leads are different, as they are generated straight through free online search channels. The main advantage being.. SEO traffic can be perceived as “free traffic”.

How Is SEO Done?

There are many SEO techniques and practices used to make a website as SEO-friendly as possible. This process ranges from the most simplest tasks to highly advanced and complex practices.

Basic SEO concepts include: Keyword Research, Website Architecture, Content Optimisation, Meta Optimisation, Website Loading Speed, Link Building and more. Search engines give different priority levels to each optimisation technique when determining the relevancy of a web page. Some proving highly useful than others, and others contributing close to nothing.

Example: When trying to get a web page ranked. Having a decent amount of high quality inbound links would have a priority over fast page loading speed. This isn’t to say page speed doesn’t matter. But search engines may deem other aspects of a higher importance when determining ranking factors.
